A little bit of Tasmania

Great story & pics Doug, I'm enjoying it a lot  .

Actually, if he & the Strom survived the journey, he'd pop out very wet in the North Atlantic, west of The Azores :bs .

Depends whether he travelled in a direct diametrically opposite line to end in an antipodal spot near where you say, or if the Strom would follow some sort of arc W-)

No doubt...that Strom was arcing something bad.
Arcing around the rev-limiter....

Lake Leake produced some stunning mornings.

The fog would lift soon enough and we could get in some great day rides. This is at the town of ROSS. Nice little town too.

Nice countryside eh!

A local farmer saw us pottering around looking for a road that turns out was no longer there. Heplful and friendly they are around here.

Back in time for a late lunch and look they even put a chair there for me.

Looks like it doesn't get used much! Very dry around here.

How's this to get you dreaming. Lovely wide open spaces, dirt roads that you could really belt along. Ah yes, we were enjoying this state immensly.:glu:thumbs:

Looks like a bit of yesteryear, even though the Telstra phone box is as modern as you can get.

We took a detour to see a waterfall.

P1040436-XL.jpg

I stopped here and started to eat the berries.

P1040440-XL.jpg

By the time I got to the bottom I was having hallucinations of waterfalls and smiling monsters. Why did I eat the berries? :bs:bs

Note to Parks Tasmania. How about an uphill start to see a waterfall. The walk back up nearly made our lungs jump out.

Nice little valley though!

Back at the top I was still hallucinating. This time I thought I could see a leprechaun. Turns out it was just Tassie Dave asking for a beer. Hmm thats what I needed right now! :scull:

We went en mass to the Elephant Pass Pancake Parlour for a delicious lunch. It was wet and a bit yukky. I'd trashed my camera earlier in the day after a little sleep while still attached to the Strom. However we were all in good spirits that evening when we sat around the beginnings of our camp fire.

Before we knew it our time at Lake Leake was up. Here's the Mayor with his groupies on hand to ensure everything gets packed away.

We said our goodbyes

And we were off, heading south. Next destination was Huonville.

We were loving the dirt roads.

Our campground at Huonville. We based ourselves here for 3 nights and took day trips to Cockle Creek and Bruny Island.
