Hi folks,

What a tour !!! :glu:glu:glu

It looks like you have traveled all the backyards of the South Island.:tu

Great impressions and stunning photos:tu:tu

Thank you very much for sharing them with us!

Best greetings from Germany
Rudi

Hey hey

Good to see you around and thanks for looking in. Are the alpine passes open already? Your riding season must be starting soon....if it hasn't done so already.:gday:

I know Doug's not done by any means, but made me want to go back and read the 2012 trip report. You know when you get that jolt of glee remembering something from a trip? I get it all the time thinking back to that one, and I catch myself smiling. I'm up to page 4 so far.

Then I reckon I'll go back and re-read this one, cause it's worth it!

The season begins! - I've done only 3 trips with totaly 800 km.
But not all passes have open.
Today we will take a trip - the weather is very nice!

Greetings
Rudi

Thought is was a bit early still...but there should be plenty of roads open near your place for some spectacular loops.
Have a great day, guys! :so

After Danseys pass, we made it in to Kurow for a late breakfast.

It was a pleasure to just sit in the sun after the cool morning.

Leaving town we stopped to check out these blokes. They were racing down the river. Looked cool too!

But before we knew it we were back in familiar territory.

We were on our way to Geraldine, up and over the Hakataramea pass.
Most of us stopped at the summit for a breather and to soak up the views of the Southern Alps in the distance.

The High altitude Latte maker was pressed into service, and it whirred away merrily until 6 bikers had there fill.

It was all too much, as Pete (Sidewinder) crabbed off into the distance, sat down at the fence line and giggled away merrily..:bs

Most of us made it to Geraldine. There was an exception. However it was quickly dealt with and a quick spin 20 k out of town soon had our out of gas biker back on the road.

We got settled in to a campground out of town...
Ordered some Curries to be delivered, and sat around just enjoying the evening.
