Very enjoyable ride report Nev! A great yarn and some really good pictures too! I have lived in the Melbourne area far too long, to not be better aquainted with the Yarra Ranges. Have firm plans in place to fix that, as soon as I get some better tires, and some bits (crashbars and side-racks) to prevent me from breaking the plastic bits as I follow in yours and Pete's footsteps (letting the Terra have a little snooze;-))

Yeah Tim! No problems getting it registered. Just put some risers on it with some cheap standing footpegs on the way. Only ridden on the commute so far, but it's great for that!
Probably needs some crash bars and bash plate before I do serious dirt on it... but it's begging for some gravel.
