"Terribly" Terrific...3 bikes, 3 "old Dusties", 3 days in the Vic High Country

Thank you for taking me along on your journey, boys. :icon-top-: Even if it was only in spirit.
Wish, I could have joined you on the bike!
Keep on riding - and keep on writing about. I love it:happy:

Coming down Mt Terrible, as usual the camera doesn't give the steepness justice

You picked the right weekend Pete. Some of those tracks would have been a bit different today and tomorrow. And the weekend before was too hot. A Goldilocks weekend, just right.

A massive moth on the door window of the cabin, I think it's Gum Snout Moth but I am definitely no expert

Just dumb luck, mate....agree, it was the perfect mix of some rougher stuff and remaining dampness in the ground for very little dust, the water/ storm damage adding plenty of tense riding for all the dropped trees/branches and washouts and extra little waterways/ creeks.

Yeah, wouldn't want to ride some of it this weekend. Then again, wouldn't make a diff for those 27k's with TONS of loose gravel on the Tooronga Rd. into Noojee that last afternoon.
Very much enjoyed the Thomson Valley Rd. though.

With a good number of unknowns for the last day (road closures/ floodings/ impassable tracks) it was "a step-at-a-time", section-by-section.
Up the main road to Woods Point, check out the Upper Goulburn River for water levels and possible use of Johnson Hill Track (2 decent-sized crossings)....or maybe up to Matlock for a run up to "Matlock Heights"/ Historic Area.
South to Thomson Dam via Walhalla/ Mt. Selma or straight via Aberfeldy, maybe this way, maybe that.....in the end it came together like this:

Breakfast anyone?

Just for some quick Jamieson info....

the General Store was taken over and is now doing more food, brecky, coffee's etc. There's ever a day-time "coffee-window" open to the Main Street now.

The Cafe on Main Street has also re-opened, running from 8am-early afternoon.

Pub has new owners and they're a real friendly lot.

The servo also has a new operator, but for fuel/ oils etc only, no more mechanical services/ help.
The former owner of the servo/ garage is still doing the towing/recoveries, working from both the Jamieson and Mansfield bases.

As said before, another major rain event or 2 and the Woods Point Rd. will be washed away, the Goulburn River was still 3x its usual width and together with the road filled the entire width of the valley floor between Knockwood and Kevington.

Wow. Glitch, really awesome photos mate......such a gorgeous part of our Country. I've only recently moved to the Albury/Wodonga area and so much to explore, I've had a taste of it and I can't wait to get to see so much more with help from my Strom.
