Kitting up for a cool day up around the tops....and a somewhat slow and short-ish day in the saddle to cap off the series of glorious days and places ridden and stayed at.

I could make that an everyday breakfast run :kicking::kicking:
Backblocks of Merrijig for the traditional road-breakfast of egg+bacon rolls.

Then got nearly blown off the mountain near the top carpark.

Things were pretty busy at Craig's Hut, but still another great lunch spot adding to a week-long series :)

Getting off the main road at Merrijig again, we re-traced the morning's route, dog-legging across the Jamieson road into Goughs Bay for a looksee
and a slow return via the Monkey Gully, which was rather full of white goats (not counting the few monkeys on bikes)

BushPig_198.JPG

Some final Hima-bodges to hopefully guarantee tomorrows' ride home :)

...a wee bolt here and there

....and the rest will polish out once home.

Despite the scars and bandaids, the Hima pulled up its chain as the Uebereats- scoot, getting the Thai-takeaways from town.
Thanks to Ant!....as the stories and laughs echoed into the dark.

A bit of a dramatic farewell the next morning, as the weather front moved in, literally chasing us out of town.
Thanks to the Daylight Savings changes overnight, that was an hour earlier than otherwise scheduled, keeping our bums dry
for the whole highway-slab into Yea.

What a week it's been....BLOODY AWESOME!!

A huge thanks to Marty, Ant and Ian for the laughs and great company, Goodie at home holding the fort...and the weather-gods for playing ball for a whole week in the bush.

It was too cold for me to take photos up top of Buller, so my first was on the run to/from Mt Stirling.

Great times had and good yarns told over Thai food and beer that night.

Tired but happy, a cool autumn morning run home through Yea back to Melbourne.

Nice view, but too busy for me.

Sky looked a bit ominous for the trip home.

As Pete said, we managed to get home with just some drizzle.

Thanks again to Pete for organizing the trip, Marty for the GPS stuff and Ant for making me use the bolts and nuts that I have been carrying around for years unused. I have restocked my bolt bag and bought some stainless steel cable ties from Bunnings ready for the next adventure. I had a great time with great company. Cheers.
