It rained over night and day looked bleak.
The choice today was the Mona Museum or fantastic ride to Strathgordon.
The weather deteriorated to a constant drizzle not bad enough to stop and put the wet weather gear on but wet enough to keep the road wet.

Check of the weather app, and while the drizzle had let up, the forecast didn't look good.
We headed back to our motel

Time to head south, it had rained most of the night. The plan was to check out the views from Mt Wellington but the chances were it would have it's head in the cloud.

We had a problem with our accommodation or the next 2 nights. Lets just say I will never trust Trip.com
We traveled around the Cygnet Woodbridge Kettering Snug Loop. Trip.com had my money but wouldn't communicate with me and now we where having problems finding somewhere to stay at a reasonable price.
In the end we headed back to Hobart but no photo's.

Reasonable accommodation (to suit a range of needs, want and personal preferences) at reasonable prices can often be a challenge.

In the end though, no problems for us sourcing accommodation - having four people on three smart phones and a laptop, all at the same time was the answer. Filtering in and out requirements, comparing prices (even getting different prices from same platforms), Booking.com seemed to be our favourite.

South of Hobart, River Run Lodge (Dover / Strathblane); SE of Hobart, Steeles Island Resort (Dodges Ferry/Carlton Beach), were our picks.

It sure is a fabulous spot up there (and the reason we nearly moved to Hobart area twice over the years)....LOOOOVE those views, LOOOVE that place.

As for accom south of Hobart....it's hard to find something reasonable as it's either Hobart suburbs or Hobart "play-time" area....we used to get places around Snug, Bruny, Kettering, Cygnet Peninsula....but that's all gone posh since.
Still, booking.com seems to come up with something usable every time, even if a bit "off-colour". Hang with them long enough for your "whizz-bang triple star membership" level and there are some serious bargain $$-rates to be had in pretty good locations.....or some extras are thrown in like brecky/ hot-tub session etc.
