[STICKY]My Pic Of The Day

Not quite as adventurous as Nev and Jo, but Lynne and I enjoyed a ride to Noojee today out through the hills.
Haven't seen one of these for a while since the Spyders have taken over.
Nice day, about 200ks, perfect weather. Cheers Ian

Hanging badly for some seat time!! Looks like winter's finally over.
Never been a fan of the trikes, but haven't noticed them sort-of disappearing quietly in favour of the Spyders.
Jacky Louwerse from YV Uly used to have one.

Ripper weather today @Squizzy
I've spent the last three days at The Basin Cricket Club "un-fucking" their network and scoreboards. What a disaster.
At least the weather has been good to be outside.

One of those where everyone else had a go until it was completely rooted and anyone with a clue backed out after the first look?
(sort of like AT about a year ago?) :2thumbs-up:

Looks awesome.
How's the trailer/ RTT setup going?
They reckon if you make it back by late arvo you should be ok today....otherwise maybe a few extra pegs?

At the beginning...

Just pre-AusTouring...
First International Ride, the 5-week/ 8000km New Zealand "Fire 'n Ice" in '05.

No idea who took the pic at the Monteith Brewery Bar near the Christchurch Airport....the tucker was fabulous!
First night after picking up the shipped bikes (GetRouted).

Starting front left is Tim, then still working at HP in Melbourne and iron-butting the lot on his GSXR1000, NetRider forum.
Jimbo, with the specs, then from Hawaii, later Oregon, a contact from the VSRI-forum, rental DL650 for first 2 weeks but extended to 3.5
Young Will, Nigel and Moira from Ballarat at the top left, Nigel on a rented BMW 650 Funduro, Moira and Youngster in a rented Toyota Echo.
"THE Original "Twin-Esky-Nigel" that is, ex-Midlands copper, heaps of fun and always full of mischief. Another VSRI forum punter.

Top end on the right is Goodie's noggin (barely).... on her beloved Pegaso 650 shipped from Melbourne.
Looking towards the camera is Sasha, who brought her near-new Guzzi Breva 750 from OZ, NetRider forum. Tough cookie, riding part of the Westcoast Twisties half-blind after a wasp-sting.
Some ugly "blow-in" next.... VStrom1000 shipped across the Ditch.
John (Birrell) front right, another iron-butt Melbournian bringing his "ABFT" R6 for the punishment. Also NetRider forum. (ABFT numberplate = Another Bloody Furry Thing after hitting a roo
in the Christmas Hills near Melbourne and totalling his previous R6)

Ready to Race
Not only KTM knows how to race. I saw this Honda Racer on a local amateur race meeting in August near Hamburg. The program guide was saying it has a 110 cc engine. IMO looks fine.

Well that was a fun weekend. Got totally drenched riding in on Saturday for the ride briefing, REVIt gear going to the op shop when it eventually dries out.

Sunday morning left at 4.15 AM, traffic was lighter, but rained most of the way in, Klim pants and plastic over jacket kept me a bit drier. My main concern riding at that time of the day was people either ignoring red lights or being drunk. Whatever, made it there ok. Went past a nightclub somewhere along High St Rd, heaps of people milling around waiting for taxis to get them home. Different world

Took a medic around, rained on and off from 6.30.

Finally had some sun towards the end, finished at 2 pm, nice and sunny ride home.

Good day, probably do it again next year.
