[STICKY]My Pic Of The Day

Hindsight is wonderful, in hindsight.

Looks pretty clean, I suppose it couldn't get too dirty in 600km.

New owner in SA must have dropped it onto a pointy rock or something like that. Not a single mark anywhere but the lower/ seat-ward portion of the tank was punched in on the right side....which had cracked the weld on the rear tank brace the tongue of the tank is bolted to.
They wrote it off on a new frame + new tank.
Got the tank repaired by Pete Borondi in Hoddles Creek, painted up and aftermarket sticker-kit from Ringwood shops, pulled up the tank-brace by hand and held it in position while a mate quickly welded it up as it all lined up and butted perfectly. Some rattlecan-Black to match the frame, no VIV then, RWC and Rego, runner!....6 weeks later someone found a 22l Ascerbis tank 2.hand for 200bux for me damn!

From there the $$ started to roll to set it up for a Cape York run (that never happened).

If the donk fires up, it's mint, simples :)

This one was on the way to get "Cape-ready", wheels out to fit knobbies, fresh brake fluid (after standing around at the auctions for a year) etc etc
