Decided to go to the Red Back Rally for the first time. Near Charlton.

Nice spot.

It filled up pretty quickly, but was still ok.

Sidecar content, so others can look away now.

Ural with R100 BMW motor fitted, custom made rack as the tub has a full sized engel fridge in it full of beer and a little bit of meat.

K100 with a few mods.

It has a drive shaft to the sidecar wheel engaged by a dog clutch for those tricky situations.

Home built, very well made. K1100

Nicely presented Gold Wing.

R100, he wants to get a Rocket 3 now for a few more horses. That would be a whole herd more I reckon.

GSX1400, done a few trips, and he has needed the winch a few times as well. I will pass on those adventures.

The water in the creek/lagoon was a very nice black colour, I didn't go for a swim.

Sunrise Saturday morning, another warm one.

IMG_20240211_071932_953 (Large).jpg

I think every Harley in Victoria was there. The trick was ride your bike there, friends bring all the stuff in the car which they park just outside the rally site, and all your gear is brought by a little 4x4 with a trailer.

There was a gymkhana of sorts Saturday afternoon, guys on Harleys riding slow, burnout competition on a concrete pad, I am too old for this shit.

On the plus side, I have worked out what a gathering of Harleys is called. A "nuisance" of Harleys

Managed to go to sleep Saturday night with ear plugs in, I was a bit of a distance from the stage, but it was still bloody loud. There was still recorded music playing at 4am when I got up for a wander.

The rally was very well run with food available and drink, toilets on site. It's a fund raiser, I think over 500 attended. There was 375 there on Friday and they kept coming on Saturday.

Left by 8.30 Sunday morning. Some interesting sculpture on the way home.

Got a bit warm coming home as I stopped to see a friend in Bendigo, yes, they are that far away. Came home through Lancefield to Whittlesea.

Good weekend, not sure if I would go again, probably not, but we shall see what happens next year.

Cold Flame maybe next, Williamson left some dimmies to pick up apparently.

Cheers

Yeah, nice spot, but the noise, I won't go again. Although the noise seems to attract some pretty (subjective) young (subjective for some, but they're all young to me) things in wet T-shirts., with some doing some unmentionable things with ping pong balls.

I was lying flat on my back when Doug tossed them, better ask him where.

Then there's the Outfit Rally (may be some sidecars there) at Carters Beach and some dimmies. Usually, the weekend before or after ANZAC Day. Not sure yet.

26,27,28 April this year. I did say to myself not to go to any rallies with bands playing after the Flatlanders a couple of years ago, must remember things.

I did see any pretty young things in wet T-Shirts, not enough of a tempt to go again though.

Charlton....had to Gmap that one, never heard of it.

That looks like an awesome meet with much delectable stuff to look at.
Beautiful kit....LOVE that 14Gix-MadMax thing with the winch, cool!

Trying to catch up with the latest here, been a bit slow on keeping an eye on the place.

I better put this in my calendar. If I don't use my trailer and tent again soon, it'll get questioned as to why the trailer takes up much needed space in our down-sized back yard.

Not far to have the "ST- draught horse" back on the road again :)
Let me know when you want to set up the RWC inspection done.
