Dusty Hills

Thanks for a truly enjoyable day, guys....but I started to get a sore arse near the end.
You and me both! Even the GS seat was starting to get sore. Between that and the sweaty bum crack, it’s was enough for one day 😂

Always a favourite...Acheron Way.
And it's in superb nick at the moment (all repairs finished).

So good! I never remember it having bitumen that far in. I always remembered like 500m of tar then it turned to dust (or slop depending on the time of year).

Bug incoming.... it's mate later made me half-blind exploding on the left lens of the sunnies @ 80kmh :)
When you were sitting there in a state of dismay I thought you’d shattered your glasses not had the bugs asshole end up on your face.

My legs are bit sore, but otherwise ok. Monkey butt pants (Moto-Skiveez) are worth their weight in something soft anyway. The seat concepts seat and mesh cover all help as well. I was able to sit down for tea last night

They don't like visitors up there.

And whilst I was waiting to close the gate for Pete, the farmers turned up, a bit grumpy, but no guns came out, so all good. I did think they were going to run Pete off the track though
That was a nice ride looking at the pictures :2thumbs-up:.
What's about the private ground and no chainsaws?? You are allowed in as lang as you stay on the track?

It's often hard to sort out as the landowners owning land either side of a (very little used) public road/ track assume pseudo-ownership of the road, effectively keeping everyone out even though it's still a public road or track.
Assuming ownership by "helping" to reduce use of the road by the public.

This one has been a prime example for the last 20 years or so. One more reason to occasionally ride along there to "show public interest in the use of the road" so it doesn't turn into
private hands eventually by defaulting to the landowner.
There used to be a whole barrage of signs and other measures to discourage use in the past, I think the landowner has sort of given up by now and just put up some signs relating to the land NEXT to the track/ road. (in small letters).
So at first glance it still looks like a "do not enter" affair....read the signs properly and it becomes obvious that all the fluff relates to the land next to the road.

Here's the GPX from today.
Looks like it cut off the Acheron way bit for some reason, but the last bit was Acheron Way, Warburton, Montrose, home.

Not a cloud in the sky once we got over the Spur
