No drama staying an extra night (to avoid a high-30's drive home), in fact it was quite enjoyable sipping a morning cappucinno on the terrace in front of the Seahorse Inn.
And taking a couple of opportunities to get out and about on the Shogun eBike.
About a km back along the access road to Boydtown is the Princes Highway, opposite the entrance is the Nullica Short Cut Road, which prior to around 1968 was a section the Princes Highway, these pics are how I remember a lot of the Princs Highway from Orbost to Eden back it in the 50's & 60's.
Yeah, Dad would tow the Bondwood pop-top with the Ford Zephyr, and later the 15' Carapark Astronaut (great model name for a mid-60's aluminium caravan) with the '66 XR V8 Ford Falcon along these roads. Whilst there wasn't a lot of traffic, the occassional timber truck, tour bus and / or car & caravan combo coming towards us, made it interesting ....... very interesting.
There's an old 1849 church ruin on the hill.

They (not sure who "they" were) were so impressed, they built a replica.
Boydtown Beach Holiday Park - not cheap at around $85 per night for a grass and concrete slab site, but we were there in the peak holiday season and amenities were very clean and modern, and it was much ceaper than the Discovery Park next door - $110 per night.
If you're heading that way, at least two nights / three days are needed, and then you're only scratching the surface. Leave the pushys at home, load a coupla eBikes on the trailer.
