And now for something different

Went for a ride to Mt. Donna Buang today for Derek's Old Boy's Day. Lovely day for a ride.

The road was blocked at the upper car park, and there was an event on which was interesting to watch. We got to go up to the top after a while and watch theses guys take off.

I love the protection on his gloves.

And they are off.

Just to prove I was there.

After lunch I went down the road a bit and watched them come past, very quickly.

Camera phone probably isn't the best for this, and into the sun as well.

90 kph for the luge guys, I really don't know how they can see where they are going.

Seven.jpg

They all seemed pretty serious about it.

A few more shots. It was just practice today, the serious stuff starts tomorrow and Sunday.

Love the pants.

The dirt road from Healesville to the top is now open apparently, they block it for the event, but that was where I stopped for the photos.

Looked like fun, except when they had to stop at the bottom. And I thought we were crazy :)

I nearly missed that most important bit!!

That would be some really great news...after how many years of closure? 5, more?

A quick run up Panton's Gap for a looksee is on the "Urgent"-card, methinks.
