Promising a rain-free Melbournian winter day, the BoM kept its word and put on a cracker of a day.
Joined up with the Vic Himalayan Group for part of the way and enjoyed every minute of it, good bunch!

Goodie, Greg, Ant and Ian tagged along for the first stretch to Gembrook and the Gladysdale Bakery in Yarra Junction, thanks for the company, guys :)

A pack of Himas on the Acheron Way, which turned out not too wet and muddy, just a bit greasy in places....

after I posted this picture on the Himalayan site from a previous ride (note our neat and tidy parking job) there was a bit of a discussion about what a group of Himalayans should be called and what the group of riders should be called.

my favourite for the bikes: a Massif of Himalayansneat himalayan parking .jpg

You have a range or a chain of mountains and as they are called Himalayans I would go with one of those words.

I'm interested in those crash bars a couple of the bikes have mounted in front of the speedo and behind the screen. I assume that they are for mounting GPS. etc but are they as solid as they look?
I would be a little worried about riding with something really solid that high in front of my chest.
