Hi. I saw this on ADV and have savoured every photo over the last few days. I am suitably motivated to "borrow" from your plans and head over myself. Amazing roads, breathtaking vistas, large beers and delicious Roesti pretty much sounds like heaven to me.

Thanks for a great RR:clap:

Thanks for popping in and leaving a note.

Yeah, quit posting it on ADV, it didn't seem to be the right stuff , not enough t&a or busted bones and mayhem to give the yarn any legs. W-)

More likely cos you're furriners, if you take a look at the most followed reports on there, apart from one or two notable exceptions (colebatch springs to mind) they're all yanks. The reading public there it's also, obviously, mostly yank and therefore not interested in European rides. Or at least not western European rides.

Bugger.

I've been slowly savouring this ride report for some time - and my browser has just had a bit of an upset, so I've lost my place.......

Was I on day 5? Or day 10? I remember there were mountains somewhere in the piccies......I'll find it......

Cheers!

Mainly for the T3 crew....Tassie Dave had ALL his video stuff transferred to scene-by-scene-files by someone in Hobart and copied onto a HardDrive, which he passed on to me at Lake Leake.
Haven't had time to look at it for weeks but started a few days ago.
Yes, I know... who can forget Dave's Movie Nights (without the popcorn) at the Hotel Milan in where-the-hell-was-it???....France somewhere...near Alpe-d'Huez... another night where everyone went to sleep while he was enthusiastically yabbering and giggling about his own comments-on-tape....Oh, sweet Jeezaz :killingme:killingme....

Whatever....got about 5-7hrs worth of movie-clips, one take at a time.
Since they're in a weird, proprietary .mts movie format, I got onto a freebie-joiner app to join all those takes into a single "day-file" then joining those day-files into 25-35min compilations.

It all works fine with the free Media Player Classic and the full codec pack installed under Windows (google, download, install), speech/ grafix sync is perfect and no visible hiccups on the scene-changeovers.

Who ever wants either the raw .mts files, scene-by scene....the daily compilations...or the compiled 2-3 day, 25-35min runtime files....shoot me a portable harddrive/ big-sized memory card or the like.
I'll convert the .mts files into full-res mp4 format, but that actually blows out a 2.4gig mts to a 3.4gig mp4 as the .mts format is highly compressed.

If you want the raw files, daily-joined, 2-3day joined and MP4 versions you'll be looking at around the 250gig+ (space required.)

All shots are 1080x 1440 full HD.

This is awesome thanks Pete. :lao

I'll drop a bit of memory off this w/e.

Your choice of about 35gig in day-folders and/ or 1-to-3 days joined in 25-40min runtime segments.
Total all up ~70gig in .mts format which seems to be compressed higher than MP4.
No probs reading it with any of the video software.
A USB3 HDD (or lappy/ SATA or FAST memory would be good), it's a shyteload of data.:so

Best ring before, in + out this w/e.
