Monday 10 August
Albany while there is a lot to see and do around Albany the weather was closing and I just wanted to be on the bike and riding. Breakfast at Danish and on the way some galoot had parked his semi three quarters of the way across the road. I mean if he had tried a little bit, he could have blocked the hole road, as it was cars were sneaking around the back of the trailer on the gravel with much encouragement from the driver. Hi Dave.
I thought his front axel had slipped of the road and into the gutter as he was turning, There was a ute parked close and as he had only a couple of pallets I thought he was going to unload so I asked if he wanted a hand. He was ok he said and as I passed I saw his front wheel had come off. Someone was going to be happy, I thought as I headed off in the rain. It turns out it was Dave Ward from ADV, small world.
A nice bakery in Danish
The rain eased a bit as I was passing the Tree walk turn off so I headed off. I don’t know why they all seem the same, anyway here’s some photos.
The rain continued and so did I. Found myself at Manjimup, theres another "up".
I’d had enough, there was washing that needed doing, AusTouring to update, time to find a room at the pub. Walking down the street and just as I walked through the door, there was some wildly tooting and waving from a blue ute. What the? I was in a strange town, so inside I went. Well I thought it was blue and he said it was blue but the girl behind the bar said it was pink, a girls car, who am I to argue? It was one of the guys from yesterday, saw me riding through and chased me. Made me go around to his truck yard, had to park in the middle of the workshop, and forced coffee and cake into me and wasted my afternoon or I wasted his, not sure witch. The trucks had to go out into the rain, even the ones being worked on, just so the GS could have pride of place. These were no little run of the mill trucks, they all had Road Train plastered all over them and more wheels than I cared to count.
Good guys even if he rode a metric Harley, if ever you need some grain or fertiliser or something shifted in the west call Kammann’s bulk Haulage.
