2014 Cup Weekend Alpine Adventure

Most of the rain had passed by the time Fuzzy and I departed Yarra Glen.

Into the Toolangi.

It cleared as we dropped into Narbethong.

We dodged diesel rainbows along the Eildon Jamieson Rd.

We stopped for fuel before meeting Famous Rog and Steve.

Given my reputation, made sure I was carrying enough fuel… :killingme

There’s always one who has to be an individual.

The natural habitat of the modern adventure rider. :bs

Lunch done. It was time to climb Mt Skene.

I led Steve a merry chase.

Hmmm, this looks similar to last time over in Easter.

Yep as scenic as ever.

Thankfully it cleared as we began the drop into Licola.

Happy chaps.

Sun at last!

Past Licola.

Lots of water in Lake Glenmaggie.

A zig zag of backroads to afternoon tea at Briagolong and into Bruthen.

How long since you seen these….?

We stayed here. New owners, new attitude, new bathrooms, new beds. Definitely back on the list of good places to stay.

It wasn’t long before the Bullant beckoned. :chug:

Now I’d say one of us has an issue with portion control…

Food was great. :glu

Before we knew it, everyone was talking in tongues… :killingme

Could have been 10 or 11 thirsty, knarly adventurers sharing the love. Would want to be the 11th or 12th they might have needed to make a circle.

Yeah, two years would be about right. Stretch I've met, she's trying to tidy it up a bit, I hope they succeed, we don't need another change of hands.

Previous guy was keen for us to park bikes under cover. Stretch wasn't too keen. How did you guys go?

Last visit (weekend of Dargo Rally 2013) wasn't too good though, they were process of painting some of the rooms, pungent paint odour was too strong to stay, had to go back to Bairnsdale for a room, not happy - missed out on an evening at the Bullant.

Stayed at the Terminous Hotel, better (much) rooms, en suite, better meals, higher prices. Undercover parking available under veranda.

Overall, still prefer Bruthen - closer to the Bullant.

:chug:

I can feel another trip coming ...........
