Ta...and looking at the eastern section of things:
For a nicer run from Glenmaggie to Newry, shoot north on the Weir Rd. then east just after the McAllister River bridge onto the Upper Maffra Rd. followed by another tack north onto Horstman-come-Three Chain Rd.

Lesser roads, narrower (some single-lane), no traffic at all...all sealed.

Another one I've been looking at for years is Insolvent Track, running east and sorta parallel to Freestone Creek.
No idea if that's ok for the "Big Pigs" or Thumper-stuff only.

How was Mt. Thompson?

Can't wait for the yarn of Jones Rd./ Baldhead etc. into Brookville/ Swifts Creek. Looks like it leads along some ridges, going by the pattern of creeks on the map.

This is good stuff!!

and then.....

Freestone Creek Rd, it one of my mainstays. I enjoy it even though if was the road that claimed the might Strom

it was in great condition, very light on the mud and no dust, hardly any pot holes either

then I came around a corning and the colour of the water almost knocked my off the back of the bike, it was so clean but at the same time glowing green

most of the photo here where taken on my little waterproof Panasonic camera, which is really showing its age in photo quality.... but I had to 'test' is waterproofness out

and a 1/2 and 1/2 shot

the S10 sitting on its high horse

a stop of at Dargo for a refuel and to contemplate the great unknown of Dargo to Omeo
