Afternoon, Pete .............

From the thread title I'm expecting a RR and pics about a visit to the Mirboo North Bakery.

It wasn't quite Mirboo, mate....only top-shelves around this Sunday :bs
As for the mentioned "attractions"...it's just stumping sometimes what a day can hold in store.

Did I use the words "tootle" and "no knobbies" or something :wot:
Sure wished we'd had 'em, at times :)

Any brand, any colour....650 THUMPERS!

One even a Tripod!
Hey, Jim

Kerrisdale_M_01.JPG

Some neat and very scenic single-lane tar through the deserted Sunday-morning foothills, a steep and skittish climb up the Kinglake Ridge and back onto the gravel near Hazeldene. The sun's with us, but last night's rain didn't reach those parts...it's dry, marbly and the arse-end wants to go walkabouts constantly.
There's also a shyteload of fresh 3/4" gravel around...

Kerrisdale_01.JPG

The Tripod needing some "persuasion" to make it around that cresting lefthander...

Magic day out...

Some...attempted... descent into Reedy Creek via the Thompson Spur prompts a bail-out and backtrack.

Jim on the retreat....

Playing around with Gmaps Friday night, I'd tripped over this:

...which led me to this: http://www.kerrisdalemtnrailway.com.au/

...and it didn't take long to give them a call on Saturday to check out the Sunday-schedule:whistle:

Oh maaaan!!!

A life-dream to own your own life-sized train-set, live on-site, build-it-from-scratch, soak up the local history, economy, people, mining, wildlife, nature and a 100 other things while following your life's passion of steam-power, the early days of electricity and endless other things.

These guys are A NATIONAL TREASURE!!

Get your bum across there before they retire/ get-too-old/ the bureaucrat-idiots shutting them down/ whatever...they're just unbelievable!
Ever seen a steam-loco built from scratch?:doh:
Get there...and watch it happen right before your eyes.
Engineering taken right from the original ....the Swiss Pilatus and Rothorn steam-railways.

Kerrisdale_08.JPG

Kerrisdale_09.JPG

...and amongst all the hootiong and tooting, there are some proper railway tickets, printed cardboard and all!!! ....and yes, you'll certainly get your ticket punched, hooray!
