It was time for a bit of a hoon into uncharted territory (for me anyway's).
We left Melbourne for Myrtleford on a lovely spring day.

Thankfully it is Melbourne and a short time later we set off with no rain.
First stop was Alexandra for lunch and then on to Lake Eildon

It looks stunning with the low cloud. A nice change from working!!

We arrived into Myrtleford just after 5 pm on the Thursday, filled up and went searching for Sir Francis's booze pantry.

Sprit's were hight the next morning as we were to be joined by Famous Rog and Fish for the rest of the weekend.

It wasn't long before we were criss crossing our way through the forests of Northern Vic

My plans to leave work early and protect my booze pantry failed spectacularly. I arrived home after 8.30pm to find many empty bottles and a table of empty takeaway Chinese containers surrounded by five increasingly jolly fellows.

Oh well, there was nothing else to do but break out the port and chocolate.

Next morning. Sun was up. Everyone on schedule.

Mr Fish took the lead out of Myrtle towards Beechworth.

Apparently you can launch a hang glider from here.

Someone seems happy. And we were still within 15km of Myrtle.

Lunch at the bakery but I had to comment on this.

Until very recently this café was called "Sconed and Jammed". I'm not surprised in the change of ownership given every time I visited they had no scones!!

Anyways, why does Eivind look so happy.....?

Famous Rog, makes ready for takeoff against the backdrop of the Murmungee Valley.

There were TREACHEROUS river crossings. As you can see the water was nearly up to the sign...We all made it through safely.

At this point I was well and truly lost.

Patiently waiting for the Ferry from Victoria to NSW at Wymah

It's really a cable car in disguise, but it works a treat. There was no time for napping on this crossing.

The sun seemed to shine more on the NSW side.

And the roads seemed less dusty

And that grass, it does seem to be greener!

This trip had all the makings of an excellent adventure.
