A bright and sunny start to Lisa’s Easter Chicken Run.

We cruised the back roads past Diggers Rest and Bacchus Marsh before looping around to Heathcote for first stop.

On the road again, more backroads delivered us to lunch.

Sun was shining.

Of course I knew what I was having for lunch.

Echuca came and went.

Soon we were at our overnight digs.

Now I’m not suggesting we drank a lot, but the Barmah Hotel did run out of black beer, craft beer, shiraz, port…. :chug:

We won!

Who’s a happy chap? :bs

Eventually, we were asked to leave.

An early start.

Downtown Barmah was frantic. :bs

Murray River

It’s not flash… :killingme

Breakfast at Nathalia. We jumped into NSW at Yarawonga and followed the river to the weir.

Bellbird Bridge standing tall above the water.

Rain? What do you mean rain?

Lunch at Walwa.

We looped around to Corryong before heading to Beechworth for the night.

The Empire Hotel. Friendly owners. Great value at $30 a head B&B.

Who would have guessed? We just happened to find a brewery. :chug:

After dinner and sampling some beery goodness we entered a different dimension here (the Nichol Hotel).

The band was genuinely good and a total scream. Mostly German in between heckling the audience (in a fun way) they rocked out hillbilly USA bluegrass….

Cheers. :chug:

I asked for a little port. :wot:

Another early start and a fairly direct ride Whitfield Mansfield etc to lunch at the Giddy Goat.

The group headed to Highlands and Yea while I made a b-line for the Acheron Way and Warburton.

Thanks and hail to the leader.

Trip distance: 1,392km for me.
