Over The Shoulder....Rides through the Decades

Re: Over The Shoulder....Rides Of A Decade

..... Sometimes I trip over a Gmap link on the WWW and get all fired up, then discover that we've been there 12 years ago and I'd forgotten all about that road/ track/ lookout/ whatever........

What will you be like when you get to my age? If you are like me, you probably won't remember what you did 12 months, 12 weeks, 12 days, 12 hours or (sometimes) 12 minutes ago!

'Bogies-Bumpies

Late Jan '15 and it's on for another Strathbogies jaunt.
A bit of this, a bit of that and lunch at the Strathbogie store.

2015_ West Gippsland Ridge-Hopping...early March

A great, little overnighter with one fatal flaw....the bed was just down the road from the Yarragon Brewhouse.:bs

Ant threw it away to keep the record straight...

Great company, endless laughs and some superb mix of weather and conditions.

GippyRidge_10.JPG

And a huuuge bag of tucked-away Gippy roads and tracks that make the heart sing.

2015_Stairway to Heaven (Bananarama)

Late March ....and after a break of a good number of years it was back to another BananaRama, shipping the bikes to Brisbane and flying after them to save the time and "commute", using the full fortnight instead for a 4500km planned route criss-crossing the Great Divide on dirt, gravel and as much single-lane asphalt as available.

And a cracker of a start we had...

The steep, loose gravel of Mt. Mee N.P.

When Winter Comes Knocking...

Mid-May, one of the first crunchy, frosty mornings with the trees in autumn-colours....and still not quite up to climbing back onto a bike after the Queensland-fiasco.

So it's a photo-tootle-by-cage only. And, as always, checking out a few new future bike roads, tracks and other interesting bits.

2015_A Frosty Day To Longwood

Late May.
The OpenRoaders had invited to Sunday-lunch at Longwood.
And that means crossing the Strathbogies.....back AND forth, HOORAY!!

Being one of my favourite local riding spots, the bikes just had to come out despite a
biting, frosty morning and some thick fog all the way into the foothills.

2015_ Mt. Dandy Steeps

Late May.
Morning fog turning into a cracker of a day.
Time to check out some of those steep climbs and drops and some new gravel tracks in the close by hills.
Melbourne CBD...looking good from here.
