Luvly pics and yes we missed a great weekend by the looks of it. :(

It's certainly never boring

As for the Dingo Creek bit...Fuzz had prepped a route and was going to lead the Sunday return for the "dusties".
Quickly checking here early Sat morning I had a strange feeling all of a sudden and slapped up a quick'n dirty route in case something went wrong...as it did.

Coming past a small sign to "Dingo Creek" on the southern slopes of the Grand Ridge on Saturday afternoon brought back 30+year old memories of a camping+ rabbit shooting trip through our first Xmas/NY break in AUS.

Tiny campsite at a creek... an old, shady wattle to keep away the day's heat...and boxes of lead flying at dawn and dusk...cold drinks out of an esky...heady days never forgotten by a recent, wet-behind-the-ears, wide-eyed migrant.

Thought of the place now and again over the decades, knew it was somewhere "near Forster" and "Agnes Falls or such"...but never got back there.

Then saw the sign to Dingo Creek...and with Fuzzy out...and looking at the hastily scrawled notes... there was Dingo Creek Rd. marked down as a possible tie into the Grand Ridge...perhaps it's the same??...and perhaps it's the same as the "old Dingo Creek"??

The tiny, half-overgrown track leading into the bush, high grass in the center and all, didn't look familiar...but bloody interesting.

Some sharp bends...and I recognized the campsite right away.
Now there's a bridge where there used to be a rocky crossing.

If it wouldn't have been for those "anti-erosion-humps" and the pooled water/ slosh/ mud/sticks/roots etc behind each of them....or coming down the track actually seeing the puddles and mud to go through or around before going over the hump....it would all have been a fairly remote/ tucked away, but sweet little climb up to the GRR, bypassing all the usual trucks+tourists+locals routes.

It's just one of those tracks that gets a little maintenance every few years for some project/ event...then it just sits there, dropped trees/ branches/ landslips and all.

Will give it another try towards the end of summer, maybe come from the top instead, before going for a splash in the creek and a bit of a picnic at the camp area. Great track on hot days, most of it has tree cover.
