After a long and bumpy ride we arrived into Corrina.

After striking a bargain with the ferry operators we were on our way. $10 bucks each, 8 bikes. $50 please!

If we all had KTM's we could have jumped across!

Before stopping for lunch in Zeehan we checked out this tunnel. Of course it's a walkway!

This beach runs down to the mouth of Maquarie Harbour and it was just superb. It was nice to be on a deserted beach again.

P1040165-L.jpg

The access onto the beach with fully laden bikes was a tricky proposition. With a fair bit of banging and scraping we all made it onto the beach safely.

For those of you that didn't know, Derek is an accomplished speedway rider.
Training the GS to do it solo, it didn't fare well.

Honestly, the sand was too soft to get off and help. Really! :killingme Looks heavy doesn't it?

And we were off. The beach was all ours.

It was very soft in places. Andrew finished the ride in China.

Here's were I discovered the acronym for PATO. Pissed at the Office.. he's beached the strom and now he's searching for his gin! :killingme:killingme

The access track off the beach was a deep sand affair. Derek reminded me of those Geese that land on the frozen lakes as he wobbled to a stop. That is a phew I made it smile!

A quick breather and headcount and we were on our way to Strahan.

We stopped in Strahan to power wash the bikes.

Derek was in continual contact with his stockbroker to see what days he could fill the BMW with fuel

P1040191-L.jpg

The sound of a revving engine followed by a mettalic thud as a big GS 1200 hit the deck was disturbing my peace as we quietly rounded the corner in the main street of Strahan.

The bloke in the tweed jacket looked familiar, but we couldn't stop and chat. We had more dirt roads to ride.

Gold, mate!!

The beach was all ours?
I think it was rather the other way around....the prey had come to the beach!
:bs:

Fantastic pics!! Glad someone got a few sweet shots of this :glu, I was way too far back and missed a good part of the immediate action.

[/IMG]After running into Boorman & co we pressed on to Queenstown. Some cabin accommodation was aquired and we sat down for beers.

After a quiet night in Queenstown we set off heading for New Norfolk stopping to sightsee along the way. But not before Breakfast in Queenstown.

A quick run up Mt Huxley

Once we tiptoed through the damp roads this scene unfolded. Above the clouds on a perfect day.
