Day 2 (Tue)
Should have listened to my gut... never mix tourist sites with motorcycles... Neuschwanstein castle, over crowded, never got near it, crack the shits and left. Paid the price by coming back via the Fern Pass which was like Collins St Peak hour Russian GLONASS Satellites played up with my Garmin GPS it just wasn't a great day Although the Plansee Landesstraße was and nice run and even a average day in this area is a bloody good day GPX for the Day http://www.martyh.com/eurofest/Eurof...ue%20248km.gpx ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Day 3 (Weds)
An absolute ball tearer of a day. Blue sky's for the most, headed down the Brenner Valley on the twisty bits under the Autobahn into Italy, then up our first real mountain pass, the Jaufenpass, followed by the famous Timmelsjoch. Back into Austria and found a real Gem, the Kuhtia high road.. Just magic, no traffic, twisty bits and magical scenery. Great day GPX for the Day http://www.martyh.com/eurofest/Eurof...Weds 258km.gpx ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Day 4 (Thurs)
Oh that was a big day... Maybe a little big in hindsight but when do you do sensible on a motorcycle? Slabbed it down to Italy.. Which sounds bad, but at 130kmh and snow on the peaks, it ain't that bad.. Visited the WW2 bunker that I found last time in 2009, went inside Then into Switzerland, rode under a church, through beautiful villages and then up the Umbrail Pass which is a lane and a half wide and full of very sharp up hill hairpin bends and a shit load of traffic coming down because the back side of the Stelvio was closed.. It's the first time a hairpin has ever defeated me, two up with a on/off clutch and had to stop mid way and reassess . Hardest bit of tarmac riding I have ever done.. Stelvio pass was crowded at the top, played overtake the cages on the way down, 1st gear and heaps of brakes and turn into the hairpins, 49 in total, massive armpump braking 2 up.. Very satisfying. Battled the traffic in Adige Valley where camper vans over take camper vans.. Found another gem in Meran 2000 high road, veiws for ever and twists and a surface to die for.. Another lot of traffic in Bolzano and those Ducs get hot in the traffic.. We are in Collalbo, Accom is amazing and tomorrow is another day GPX for the Day http://www.martyh.com/eurofest/Eurof...hurs 310km.gpx ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
