Getting the hang of it
I got back last night,it was so hot it was melting my military survival water bottles and I saw one bike the heat had melted the body plastic, you couldn't touch my seat with a bare hand.
Nice was the worst hot and humid and very uncomfortable.

you are definitely going at the right time all the locals told me come in September the traffic was diabolical never go in August its frustrating at times with all the car and campervans.

I still had a blast though and found great roads and places to see and places to stay.

just a few pics to whet your appetite

Re: Tornanti #3_ EuroAlps Sept/Oct 2013

if I recommended one place to go it would be the Gorges du Verdon

words and photos don't do it justice,I found a fantastic Gite at the top of the Gorge cheap, comfortable and a view to die for and you can watch the massive vultures fly over head.

Whoohoo
To find all THIS tucked onto a big, old thread and leaving it to wither there, looked like a shame.
Hope you don't mind that I started a new thread in the ride-reports with those posts.

Want a name-change, let me know, I can re-title the thread to whatever you like.
Those shots certainly make the drool run :glu
Got some more?

Nice being THAT hot?
It's usually not as bad on the water's edge but worse in the coastal limestone just a little inland.
Yeah mate...looks like the hot-spell has finally broken and once again September is shaping up as the pick of the crop.

The Galibier is looking good :chug:....and enough snow on the surrounding peaks to pretty up the vistas.

Awesome place, innit? More pics, please!!

We had a sniff around in '07, also found a spectacular little Gite at the northern end of the Canyon.
Just LOVE the whole area, Gorges de Cians, Gorges de Daluis and then further south towards the Mediterranean.

Did you have time for the Route de Crete?

...... it was so hot it was melting my military survival water bottles and I saw one bike the heat had melted the body plastic......

A couple of weeks ago I was reading some posts on a UK forum. There was some discussion about the heatwave in Devon, it'd reached a mighty 34C, and there was concern that the heat had cracked some clear plastics on the motorcycle intruments.

:poo:

I explained that we get 44C here (remember the Australia Day Weekend when we met yuse guys and gals at Bruthen, before heading to Khancoban, when Mikey nearly exploded, when Pete tried to run me off the road - from in front of me ..... when, when, when ......).

:upyrs:

Anyway, we don't see many heat cracked instrument lenses here. Just saying ...........

Great pics , I've been to that Galibier region but in winter to ski. It's beautiful.

You might want to do some weeding of your Kwaka though.

I got a bit carried away and went hippy for a bit lol
