A little bit of NZ

We were heading for Dannevirke. I'd picked up a virus and was feeling lousy, so I separated from the group and headed to camp.
But not before some speculating along the way. This little beauty popped up.
Just had some concerns about the Chimney!

You haven't really lived until you've had a savoury scone in NZ, with butter! I momentarily forgot about my virus as I chowed down on this delicacy!
The WORLD stopped!

And the trucks, OMG the trucks, they thundered past. Every town every day, cattle, sheep, fuel, freight and everything in between. Paying little regard for the 50kph speed limits.

An interesting A frame Cabin in the Dannevirke campground. We had the more traditional rectangle. Was fine though too.

And there was a Sunflower, or in this case a Moon flower in the campground.

We were in Manawatu country, Imagine Antartic air, colliding with warm tropical air, and the pressure systems that are generated from that. Yep it's a stormy old place.

And this is where we are, heading for a comms tower in the clouds.

Somewhere in there is the tower.

Next Stop was the neat little Township of Pongaroa.
And we had some sensational countryside to travel through.

I was enjoying the ride, my new found joy with monochrome pic's. The least I can do is bore you with them.

Now there isn't much in Pongaroa, but it seemed like there was a vibrant farming community. We headed to the pub, which was empty at 5.30 pm. By 8 pm the tables were full.

I revisited my youth.

Snapped this on the way out of the pub!
