Beaconsfield Backblocks...one winter afternoon

Why was I thinking I had taken a bottle of fine wine to a backyard BBQ? :D

Re: (Maybe)Stolen Afternoon...Sat 3.June...Beaconsfield area

Thanks for a good day guys. I did not pass anyone and no one passed me. We all just tootled along and swapped places at corners, whilst Pete tried to find every dead end road in the area! Came home to a lamb roast, does not get any better.

...of which there were MANY....

Nothing beats a good GPS, aye? :so

...and if the batteries are flat in that one, there's always the backup, yeah!

...and if that one fails, we're just up shit-creek W-)

Jeez I'm going to have to do some work on that pic in Photoshop. I told Janice the water level was half way up the tank!

For you...piece of cake.
I can just about see the Tiger in there somewhere...

Couple of shots for SF....Quarry Rd. nowadays.
I think they're still not quite done with the park/ reserve bit yet...Boral left a mighty deep hole there.

Lots of those on the day...

Barely out of the starting blocks....Cardinia Creek.
Never knew it even existed!

Hood3check_6.JPG

Maybe Richard should've taken the same line through the guts of the crossing as Brad + the Husky (..."and that's the washing outta the way!") :bs

Many turnoffs and corner-markers later the sun finally decides on a stealth appearance.

Only a few pics this time, there just wasn't much "light+life" around all afternoon. Riding conditions were excellent though, just damp enough to keep the dust down, just dry enough to dodge any real mud...and most backroads in excellent nick. Had to turn around at various "No Thru's" while others turned into "Dry Weather Only" or "Land Management Vehicles" blahblaah....and got us some nice, scenic...if short...stretches of bush-riding-in-the-suburbs.

Ohhh....and the Berglund turned out a semi-sealed fizzer, while the Yackatoon Rd. terminated in a-pile-'o-shyte on top of the hill. :bs

Still, a nice little bag of "newies" added to the collection.

This is actually much more like how I remembered that crossing.
I'm picking there is something wrong with that camera of yours. Maybe the lens is dirty or something. :killingme
