So Al decided that we were going to start heading south again by heading north first and around through the Brindies. Across the bridge at Wee Jasper, then start climbing up the hill:

Stopped for some more scenery along the way:

Considering how close we were to Canberra, there was bugger all traffic:

If you look real close, you can see the tower on Black Mountain in the distance (and keep in mind, it was taken on a P'n'S, so no big zooms here):

Skirted around the edge of civilisation, and headed up the hill through the Brindabella National Park heading towards Brindabella. The amount of people using that road astounded me. There were Subaru's, Discovery's, Mountain Bikes & Hikers..

We stopped at the top for a breather:

Before starting the descent down into Brindabella:

Stopped for a bit of a looksee at one of the rivers for a while before I realised the others hadn't stopped, so I should really get a move on:

Great bit of road through the Bondo State Forest heading back towards Tumut:

Roger must have been off with the fairies along this stretch because I got to overtake him again. Here I was hoping for some encouragement (you know, "you're getting better on the gravel mate"), but no... I get "So you think I'm going too slow so you pass and shower me with rocks".. I'm sure I'm innocent of that - the KLR doesn't have enough power to throw rocks..

Back out through the plantations to Tumut:

(Told ya there'd be some average shots!)

Until we got back into Tumut:

Turns out that Tumut had the Festival Of The Falling Leaf on, so the town was chockers, with roads closed and all that. We dived into an eatery for a bite to eat before the crowds dispersed from the parade and there was nothing left. Stocked up with some more supplies and continued heading in a south-ish sorta direction back towards Victoria.

Was getting sick of getting smacked in the cheeks by bugs (well, I assume they were bugs even if they did feel like marbles!), so the goggles came back out:

I'd go back to a road helmet, but I really miss the peak when I'm not using the chook chaser lid.

Almost looks Mad Max'y:

Pulled up on the Murray somewhere west of Jingellic for the night (before the big bouncy things came out to play). Al figured this was a good spot to camp:

KLR 1, both BMW's 0.. (that'll come back and bite me on the arse)

Set up camp:

Looked at the scenery:

..and then kicked back and relaxed:

May be a sister to the odd guy Brian (BJay), and his mate Warren, met at Wee Jasper on the way to the New Years Rally at Micalong Creek around 16 months ago.

I'll let him tell the story, he knows much more "intimately" better than me.
