Default Mid-July 2016...Frosty Frolic, Tungamah weekend

He called...and they came!
Tim SF and the OpenRoaders extended the invitation and off to Tungamah we went. Yeah, go and look it up, I had to, too
Victorian mid-winter at its best...blue skies and bone-creaking mornings.

A bit of the Black Range, the Strathbogies, the Warby Ranges, Mansfield and other parts.

The whole box 'n dice is over here --->>>

Default 2016_New England + Colorado

NOT a bike-trip this time,

but a snoop around the far north-eastern US, following the Appalachian Trail from the New York State border to its origin near the Canadian border.
A short loop through Quebec, followed by the Maine coast and a few days in the Rockies/ Colorado on the home-leg back to Oz.
It had all started with a travel-yarn in a German bike-mag in the late '70s.

Split into various threads, here are the links to all the parts, in their chronological order.

General travel notes:

Checking on Uncle Sam....travel notes, beer and aspen-gold

Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire....backroads, bike-roads and National Parks

Peaks + Perks....New England (US) picture book

A short loop into Quebec, a ferry trip across the St. Lawrence....and some weird + wonderful discoveries along the way.

A Touch Of Quebec (Canada)

From a failed attempt at "The Golden Road" to a fantastic day around Mt. Kathadin (the northern end of the Appalachian Trail), a truly stumping morning at the Acadia National Park and this whole sorry/ soggy lobster business........and a glorious 40min sunset
Lobster-Tales (Maine, US)

...and all the above before it's finally into the Rockies. As we were convinced that New England and Quebec were impossible to beat...Colorado had it stacked high+wide!! OMFG!!!

A World Of Its Own...Colorado + The Rockies

Cracker roads!!

Vistas to die for

Brews to taste and cherish!

KLR's growing out of the pavement-cracks

Beaut-looking wildlife

It simply bowls you over!!

Don't even think about the Black Canyon of the Gunnison

...or the weird Sand Dunes at 8000ft above sea level ...and at the foot of some 11.000ft snow-mountains.
It's just TOO-BLOODY-MUCH!!

String it all together via some little gems like the upper reaches of the Rio Grande or the Powderhorn Valley and there are tears of joy.

Default 2016_late November, Melbourne Bike Show

Not much new at this year's Melbourne Bike Show....apart from a marked shift of exhibitors towards the DualSport and ADV scene.
From bikes of all sizes to accessories and tour operators, the ADV-market is decidedly booming!

Default 2016_Another Night At The BullAnt

Early December...and once more the call came: Bruthen or Nothing!
Which means another pilgrimage to sink a few foamies at the BullAnt brewery.

Sure!! A weekend on Gippsland's backroads is always a good idea.

All them backroads and twisties are bloody hard work, too.

Last one standing...

BUUURPP...said the rear hoop!

The truth and nothing but the truth?? HERE!!
