Stumping pics !
the Logs made me think of "Nick" and the "Persephone" though they were on the other side of the country,
The Copper made me think of all those fingerprints!!!
The guy on the wire.... well John Blackman had a name for him! " A Professional"(idiot) lol.
Just waaay too much to take in, all those steps, all that noise and spray and colour :)
Magnifique!

Magnifique, indeed.
It's easy letting the camera do all the work around that place...there's something different and worthwhile to snap wherever the viewfinder takes you.

The poor sod on the wire...he was the only "50+" amongst a bunch of 20-something local beaus+belles, all gung-ho and having a cracker of an arvo...he must've shat himself hanging off that piece of sewing thread in front of those 100s of tonne's of water roaring past.
I know, I would've! :so

Being a "city-hater" rather than a "city-lover" (even though I grew up in one) there haven't been a lot of cities/ big towns over the last 6 decades that have somehow talked to me.

Milano/ Italy was one...Christchurch/ NZ another.
Now add Quebec.
Old Quebec, in particular!

Any place coming up with this as a safety-cover for a gas-mains has to be congratulated (at least for still being around...and not in orbit by now):bs :bs

Sadly it's time to pack our "pious Prius" and tack south....back into the US, and via some adventurous routes at that!! So long, Quebec (North-Shore) , it's been a PLEASURE!! :gday:
David and Goliath!

I love the "sensible" scaffolding on the copper sheeted building ;)
Many of the other images just leave me speechless..

asphalt

Tassie...where tyres are flat and nights are long
Wow... what pictures
Mega Copper roofs in town (-hall) ?
It seems, that Canada-Lifestyle is very different to the United States.

Long Timer
Absolutely gorgeous photos Pete n Goodie. Quebec looks like a themed set in Disneyland or Las Vegas. Obviously the latter are the imitators. All that copper! Traveling to Melbourne on the train it's common to see the police gazing upwards at the missing copper wires. Must be worth a motza!

Goodonya for picking up on that...
Aussie H+S would drown in their own spittle, eh?... :bs

Oh yes, it sure is.

Was thinking of that, too.
And going back over those last pics, every roof showing a green-ish tinge is also a copper-roof, with the age patina of oxide added.

Our Quebec-time coming to an end, it was a quick retreat south on the Rt73 freeway towards the US-border,

before side-tracking for Lac Etchemin, trying for the "Golden Road" the next morning.

Promises...

...and they did come good with some exceptional tucker!
And all at the most reasonable prices of the last week or so.:thumbs:

Another oddity...they do like their external staircases here! W-)
Not fire escapes, but the only access to the upper flats/ living quarters.

Another common sight...summers are short and garages rare.
Fold-up garden furniture for 4...seats, table, sunroof and all.
Looks like someone just pinched the plates and hamburgers from the set...

US2016_0289.JPG

Yeeha, SOMEONE "seeing the light" around here!!

US2016_M_0157.JPG

All 500 Watts of it!

Luigi was here, too...

There's a storm brewing over Lac Etchemin tonight...
