Glitch and K!W1 head off together armed only with cameras.

So we get to Sunday. Glitch has his tent packed before the cock next door even thinks about crowing, there are snores traversing the 50 metres or so from the Cruiser boys to us, we have a cup of tea (or coffee) and head for town for breakfast and wait for the servo to open.

after a quick fill where the two bikes took only 100ml different to refill it was off up the valley flat towards Jamieson. Even at 8.46 you can tell it's going to be a cracker day

as we climbed the views got better with each turn

and the continuous focus kept working

and eventually we got to the down up bit

46737781921_23ddbc01c5_h.jpg

and I got to do a gratuitous my bike in front of the scenery shot

with views going on for ever

46737780481_0418a12912_h.jpg

after 47km or so and not a single other vehicle to that point we were at the top of the world or as it appears on the map Mt Skene

and if you turn around

31796343767_6d50ba580a_h.jpg

heading down into Licola the temp dropped 5 degrees almost instantly the scenery continued to excite and the 4WD people had woken up so there was half a dozen or so dust storms to navigate before we hit the seal which now extends about 11 km from Licola

46012973054_feef241cf6_h.jpg

The Ulysses Club had settled into Licola by the time we got there so listening to an argument between a p^*^k with a cruiser and the guy pumping petrol about who was the most experienced petrol pumper was the highlight and we were soon off.
As we exited the hilly winding part of the road heading south about 20 Ducati riders came towards us at warp speed. I reckon they would have encountered the Ulysses convoy right slap dab in the middle of the best part of the road. That might have been fun to watch from a drone.

Definitely a different sort of riding and views heading towards the coast

with a short stop at Cowwarr weir for a leg stretch

Then home with what turned out about 10km from home to be a slowly deflating rear tyre but it had enough air in the top to get me home and there is now a lovely new on on order.

Great, great weekend.

YummYumm!!

Some beaut shots there :glu:glu
A bit of a bummer that it was so hazy....although, at the time we had no idea that Gippsland was getting whipped by gusts up to 80kmh from the north east.

Half of Gippsland's farmland seemed to be in that black-brown wall of swirled up dirt/ dust which chased us west towards Morwell.
Awesome sight in the mirrors, though...and you could just about chew it, too.

but as we checked in Glitch said something to the effect of "this is what Doug would do" and purchased some emergency pre dinner supplies so we did not go thirsty

Le Mans hobble these days. :)

Got to get me some of those shots. That guy on the Tiger actually looks like he knows what he is doing! :D

There is a full moon on Wednesday 20 March. I'm thinking 23/24 overnight camped in Mt Skene for so sunset, sunrise and astro photography is lookking pretty attractive at this stage.

Any takers?

Mt. Toorongo, the Head of the Yarra, Mt. Matlock, the laughs at Kevington and the peace and quiet across Mt. Skene...excellent weekend, nice loop, great fun :chug:
