Putting all my chips on Monday for some half-decent weather and hopefully little traffic.

Well, that one hit the bloody wall, eh?

A night of expecting either the upstairs lifting off towards Tassie or NewSouth...or finding the neighbours garage crashing through the front door.
Holy shyte, what a racket that was.

Then extension-lead spaghetti all over to try and keep the fridge and freezer ticking over without popping the last working circuit on the switchboard.

Maybe next week then...

Need a generator?
It was pretty wild up here as well but it sounds like you guys were hit far worse.

Thanks for the offer!!

Still got one phase live out of the 3 coming into the place, so not totally dark yet. Looks like it'll be a quiet day today then. :-)
Just found another lead to hook up NBN/ shop phones/ chargers etc again.
AustNet doesn't even take fault-calls anymore, they sure have their hands full.

Not surprised. The median strip of Canterbury Rd. looks like a green hedge at the moment, they dragged all the toppled trees off the road onto the nearest "island" for the start, but they keep rolling back onto the road-surface with the continuing gusts.
